We all knew East Oxford was the cool part of the city ;-) ... but now more than ever is worth a visit to see the new (and old) pieces hidden on its walls. This is one of my favourites for the wonderful colours and the strength of the painting. Every day you see people taking pictures and I am sure this graffiti hunt will become part of any alternative city tour. The outfit is just a classic with jeans and white t-shirt combination, but both have that seventies spirit that I love, with my favourite bag to give the final touch and close the look.
T-shirt and jeans from Zara. Furla bag and Bimba y Lola sandals.

Don't tell me this house doesn't look like one. With its title blue door and the bicycle by the fence! For me, mini plus long sleeve shirt is always a winner combination. This skirt is one of my latest crushes and makes me think about the Russian dolls: beautiful flower patterns full of colour on a black background. I've always loved their soft and rounded shape and the fact that they perfectly fit into each other. Every time you remove one layer you find a new look with new colours and patterns but is always the same doll. A bit like us; fashion in a certain way allows us to be different versions of the same woman, to play with clothes as different layers we can change and combine in many different ways to go out and tell the world which doll we feel like being today.
Zara skirt and clutch, Top Shop shirt and Espadrilles from Cremades. In a city like this, some days you end up feeling like one more of the tourists exploring the city. Oxford can be many things, but quiet is not one of them...and even less during the summer. If you look around you always en up spotting a corner, a shop, a street or a door you've never seen before, even if you passed by probably a hundred times. The camera and the bag-pack do the rest when it comes to pretend you travelled to your own city. The star of this look is the trouser, I declare myself absolutely addicted to this type of culotte trouser, this navy blue one is the latest addition to my very own non-skinny trouser collection and I love the fact it does a bit the skirt effect on the front. The classic navy blue and white never fails, is always elegant and chic, and personally I love it with camel.
Zara total look and Adidas Stan Smith. Bag-pack from flea market in Morocco. I love it when things apparently contradictory just make a great mix together...I always find the result more special because is less obvious, and therefore you have to risk a little but if you get it right is just perfect. This skirt is one of my favourites and the t-shirt has that rock&roll thing you sometimes feel like... Initially they have too much personality and ask for neutral company, you wouldn't see them together, but actually they work quite well as they balance each other when you don't want to do a total look, and you just feel like going punk, but also pink...and wearing trainers.
Zara t-shirt,H&M skirt,Loewe bag and NB I was after a light flowery dress and when I saw this one I knew it was the one! I have a thing with dresses and is the love at first sight thing... it is that, or nothing. With other things I can have my doubts but with dresses is always crystal clear for me. The black element makes this one appropriate for the evening, but the flowers make it work with a pair a trainers as part of a very casual morning look. The streets in Oxford are always a nice background and this one is one of my favourites, only locals use it so is a great alternative this days when the city is buzzing with students and tourists.
Zara dress, Ray-Ban sunnies, Longchamp bag and Adidas Stan Smith. It has become a tradition for us to go to France end of August to see family and friends so I coincidentally get to buy the desired Vogue Paris September issue. I can't wait to see what's the surprise this year, for the moment, the US edition has arrived with four different covers with Jennifer Lawrence photographed, and painted! This t-shirt is the ‘I Love Vogue Paris’ collectors' they featured in 2015. I like to wear it with any jeans for a chic simplicity, either shorts, skinny or boyfriend would do the trick. In this occasion y gave the touch of colour with the sunnies and the NB trainers and kept the rest neutral. The summer coat can't be more versatile, the texture is crepe and I've worn it from the office to a weeding a part of completely different looks. That I love vogue is not a secret but I also love Wednesdays... not beginning - not end of the week, lots of possibilities!
Zara wooden sunnies and jeans, H&M Divided coat and NB trainers. Ça c'est la question… every day, unless the answer is clearly the hat and the umbrella. I am thinking of writing a post on how climatology is probably the origin and main influence factor for fashion evolution, I am sure that's the case, but let's not go off topic here ;) This look is what I call an ace for a relaxed day around Oxford: who doesn't have all these elements in the wardrobe and doesn't enjoy the cute, comfy and casual combination? We love to walk by the river and end up having coffee on the other side of the city on the weekends, but while we wait for the next one...Let's go for another week!
Hat from an independent shop in France, Zara sunnies, parka and jeans, Claudie Pierlot blouse and Adidas Stan Smith. Sometimes I feel like a total pale look, and when this happens, light pink, grey and white are normally my favourite colours. I mixed the three of them for this outfit and I really liked the rose result. The bomber is one of my favourites pieces , we "found each other" last summer during sales, when I thought I've missed it for good. That feeling is amazing, isn't it? You see the piece in question (even better if it's shoes) in the middle of the sales mess, walk towards it trying to pretend you are not interested in case someone is watching... you get a bit nervous and look around discreetly because if it is your size, you are going to get it even cheaper than you thought....you cross fingers and when you get there... bam!! The shoes are also very special to me, I borrowed them at Karen Millen to try on a dress and had to take them home. Happy Friday!
Top Shop blazer, Zara bomber, H&M jeans, and Karen Millen shoes. The suede bag is from Zara. |
